The Graduate Program in Linguistics (PPGEL) maintains systematic exchanges with several institutions through partnerships of our faculty members and research groups with researchers and research groups or centers in Brazil and abroad.

Some of our agreements with foreign universities include: Universidad de Buenos Aires (Argentina); Université de Montréal (Quebec/Canada), Universidade de Ottawa (Canada), Universidade de Alberta (Canada), University of British Columbia (Vancouver/Canada), Université de Saskatchwean (Canada), Universidade de Coimbra (Portugal), Universidade do Minho (Portugal), Université de Toulouse (France), Université de Franche-Comté (France), Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona (Spain).

Such agreements optimize the participation of foreign professors in our courses, events, and research projects, and vice-versa.

They have also maximized the opportunities for outgoing doctoral students’ and post-doctoral professors, as well as our holding meetings and academic events with foreign guests. In addition, they have increased the interest for joint academic publications involving PPGEL researchers and researchers of international institutions.

Due to our professors’ engagement in internationalization, PPGEL is part of the Internationalization Program (PrInt) awarded by the Brazilian funding agency CAPES. Universidade Federal de Uberlândia is one of the 36 universities selected in Brazil to participate in this Internationalization Program, with PPGEL being one of the few programs that met the application criteria. Therefore, PPGEL has internationalization-specific funding and has been funding our outgoing professors and students and our incoming researchers and students from foreign institutions.
